13 Queen Anne's Gate
Part of a terrace of five 1775 houses, built by the surveyors for Christ's Hospital. Very fine, clean Georgian lines and well proportioned rooms. The five buildings used to be occupied by the Architectural Press which was owned by Robert Maxwell and was famed for having a private pub (if that's not a contradiction in terms) named the Bride of Denmark, so called because Queen Anne was the wife of the entirely forgotten Danish Prince George.
